Richard H Harris, CEO of Ensygnia, was recently asked to lead the Judging for the Innovation Award for the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards.
It’s no small undertaking to judge your peers and objectively review what are usually outstanding efforts from all entrants.
Winning one of these Awards really means something to the entrants so Richard was determined to fully review each entrant and guide his fellow judges to take great care picking the shortlist and the winner. He knows only too well what it means to win an industry or business award and how important that can be to your success - whether you're a start-up, small business or highly funded fast growth business.
Winning a National Business Award is great recognition of the outstanding work across all of M Squared's departments, shining a light on the advancements made by our team in helping to realise the potential of light to tackle the most pressing challenges faced by society - PREVIOUS WINNER
Together with his fellow judges Richard looked at the entries against this tough question:
Has your innovation made a huge impact on your organisation, company or the industry? Is it a new service that has, for example, improved your clients' experience or is it a product that has had an impact on your customers' lives?
And consider the entries across the following criteria:
Created competitive advantage
Contributed to significant growth
Transformed the organisation or wider industry
Improved overall financial performance
Achieved operational excellence
Embedded ethical or sustainable practices
Helped staff deliver better customer service
Increased market share or customer loyalty
Supported strong leadership and management
“It was a long day and a tough job because the standard was very high,” said Richard.
But with the difficult part completed, Richard and the other judges can now look forward to being with the entrants to celebrate their success at the Awards Ceremony on 12th November at Grosvenor House.
