A Brilliant User Experience
Journey is Everything
The ‘year of mobile’ has been and gone. Analytics tell us that mobile use has now overtaken that of desktop in a massive number of verticals and so mobile user experience (UX) is fundamental to the existence and growth of your brand.
In this day and age consumers' patience is nothing. Every extra step, click, rule, Captcha, or security measure, results in a 40% drop in your conversion. With this in mind everything we do is optimised to have the least number of steps between desire and completion. Providing the best experience is one of our core values. And, since designing the first iteration of our solution in 2012, we’ve had plenty of time to analyse, test and redefine the customer journey. The end result is a streamlined user experience that you can control, adapt and change on-the-fly.
The look, feel and overall user journey behaviour is all set up in our platform. This makes the update process quick and easy, leaving no need to wait for an app update. We can even pull in your web content, making it securely interactive and while reducing the maintenance requirements for your app content. Responses to triggers can be personalised to an individual or demographic; making A/B testing simple. In the background our platform links all of the systems required instantly.
Finally, thanks to our clever boffins, we now have a web-only version of Onescan. It looks like an app, feels like an app, has the security of our app, but doesn’t need a download!
In retail stores across the world, the sight of contactless payments by phone or by card has become commonplace. But more than 30 per cent of the world’s population are now considered digital shoppers and the online retail market was worth a staggering $768bn in the USA alone last year – and it’s a market that is expected to double in size by 2025.
“…some 83 per cent of UK consumers now use contactless payments and that number doesn’t fall below 75 per cent for any region or age grouping.
Payments consultancy CMSPI believes the looming deadline in Europe for retailers to comply with the regulations around Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for online sales could cause further damage to an industry already suffering from the effects of severely reduced in-store footfall.
What’s really going on in payments? Will 2020 be the year of the QR Code in European payments? There’s host of factors lining up to force change on the online payments market in Europe and beyond. Tony Craddock, the Director General of the Emerging Payments Association has looked at the changes 2020 will bring, touching on PSD2 as well as outlining some of the other major themes that he predicts will impact the payments market this year.
January 31, 2020 sees the UK ‘leave’ the European Union and begin the process of determining its future trading relationship with EU member countries and indeed the rest of the world. And it’s worth remembering that EU regulations tend to have impact on countries both within and without the European Union.
The new EU Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) rules, require additional verification for online payments of more than €30, and the site quotes a report in the Financial Times, which says that big changes are required to processes and technology at retailers, banks and payment groups.
Industry standards are a good thing – there’s very little argument against their existence or their purpose. They help markets to coalesce around some best practices, and they can help deliver economies of scale as well as drive actual market scale. But if you sense a ‘but’ coming along in this train of thought, you would be at least partly right.
